Experience: Senior
We are looking for a Senior Python / JavaScript Engineer to join our engineering team and help design, build, and operate scalable backend systems. In this role, you will work closely with engineering and product teams to deliver reliable services, contribute to architectural decisions, and take ownership of complex technical challenges.
The ideal candidate is a strong communicator, highly proactive, and comfortable operating in modern cloud environments with distributed microservices.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend systems using Python and Node.js / TypeScript.
- Collaborate closely with engineering and product teams to translate technical concepts into clear solutions.
- Take ownership of complex technical problems and ensure reliable delivery of solutions.
- Design and operate large-scale microservices architectures in GCP or similar cloud platforms.
- Build and maintain clean, well-structured APIs and service interfaces.
- Implement and manage asynchronous and concurrent systems.
- Ensure services follow security best practices, including authentication, RBAC, and secure API design.
- Improve system scalability, resilience, and fault tolerance, including graceful degradation and horizontal scaling.
- Troubleshoot and resolve production issues, applying strong debugging and problem-solving skills.
- Proactively identify risks, inefficiencies, and opportunities for technical improvements.
Required Qualifications
- Strong written and spoken English communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly.
- Extensive experience with Python and Node.js / TypeScript for backend development.
- Experience designing and running microservices-based systems in GCP or similar modern cloud platforms.
- Strong understanding of distributed and asynchronous systems, including concurrency.
- Solid experience with API and service design.
- Knowledge of web service security best practices (authentication, RBAC, secure APIs).
- Deep understanding of cloud scalability and resiliency patterns.
- Excellent debugging and production troubleshooting skills.
- High level of ownership, initiative, and reliability in delivering solutions.
Nice to Have
- Experience with React or other modern frontend frameworks.

Your Missions
As part of several digital transformation projects within a Salesforce environment—particularly an initial project focused on the digitalisation of Credit processes (target tool: nCino, based on Salesforce)—you will:
- Participate in the end-to-end implementation and development of the solution
- Be involved in all project phases, from design through to maintenance
- Configure and develop rich, interactive interfaces to deliver an optimal customer journey within the Salesforce solution (APEX classes, Triggers, Visualforce pages, Lightning components, etc.)
- Strengthen the industrialisation of development processes (continuous integration, change traceability, configuration management, observability, quality management, etc.)
- Ensure proactive, dynamic, and efficient collaboration with IT colleagues and, where applicable, business stakeholders
- Comply with the bank’s code quality and architectural standards
- Develop REST APIs and data access components to ensure optimal integration with Salesforce ecosystem tools
You will also contribute to other service activities, including:
- Providing and/or coordinating production support
- Participating in incident resolution and management
- Contributing to obsolescence management, patching, and security-related tasks
- Developing and enhancing SSDLC practices

Requirements
- Master’s degree (MSc) in Computer Science / Information Technologies, or equivalent experience
- Minimum of 3–4 years of experience in Salesforce project development; experience with nCino is a strong asset
- Knowledge of one or more of the following modules: Financial Services Cloud, Salesforce Experience Cloud, Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, nCino Commercial Banking and/or Mortgage
- Strong expertise in Salesforce configuration tools such as Flow Builder, Custom Objects, and customisation tools including Apex, Visualforce, Flows, Triggers, scheduled and batch classes
- Experience with UI technologies such as JavaScript, Lightning Design System, and Lightning Web Components
- Proven experience in system integrations using REST and SOAP APIs, OAuth, and Single Sign-On
- Solid understanding of the product development lifecycle, DevOps practices, and deployment tools such as Git, Jenkins, Jira, AutoRabit, Change Sets, Salesforce VS Code, and Salesforce CLI
- Salesforce certifications are considered an advantage (e.g. Certified Platform Developer I & II, Platform App Builder)
- Ability to work effectively in a team and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Excellent command English; knowledge of Luxembourgish and French is a plus
